Psychiatry

1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month from 12-1pm EST

The WVCTSI Project ECHO Psychiatry program was launched on August 16, 2017, to expand the treatment of basic mental health issues to providers across rural West Virginia. During bi-weekly sessions, attendees have the opportunity to present psychiatric adult and/or adolescent cases to specialists and participate in didactics covering a variety of topics including the diagnosis and treatment of basic mental health diseases as well as the identification of patients with recalcitrant mental health systems and available secondary and tertiary evidence-based treatments.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify adult, child, and adolescent psychiatric conditions including diagnosis and treatment for basic mental health issues.
  • Identify the mechanisms of commonly used agents as well as other evidenced-based treatment for basic mental health diseases.
  • Identify patients with recalcitrant mental health symptoms and describe secondary and tertiary evidence based treatments.
