Substance Use Disorder

2nd and 4th Monday of each month from 4-5pm EST

The WVCTSI Project ECHO Substance Use Disorder was launched on June 9, 2017, to address the ongoing opioid epidemic in West Virginia. This innovative hub and spoke knowledge sharing network allows rural physicians to connect with substance abuse specialists at West Virginia University in order to present patient cases and participate in didactic presentations covering a variety of Medication-Assisted Treatment topics. During sessions providers from across West Virginia will be instructed on the benefits of MAT and learn how to implement a group-based recovery model in various practice settings.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify the key components of the medication-assisted treatment model (MAT).
  • Explain the benefits of providing MAT.
  • Relate how using a group-based model would be implemented in various practice settings.
