WVCTSI Virtual Grant Writing Workshop Series

Writing a Competitive Fellowship Award: Know Your NIH NRSA F Award

This grant writing workshop is designed for graduate and medical students, postdoctoral scholars and fellows, and interested faculty mentors, to learn the basics needed for submission of an NIH Individual National Research Service Award (NRSA) Fellowship – best known as the “F award”. Through a series of three sessions, participants will learn to identify the F award that best meets their career stage, understand the requirements of the application, and obtain guidance on developing, organizing and writing a competitive application. Several sessions will include an interactive component to enable participants to obtain feedback on their writing on drafting a Specific Aims page and on specific required sections of the NRSA application. This workshop will be presented by Drs. Robert J. Milner, Keck School of Medicine of the USC, and Joan M. Lakoski, WVCTSI and West Virginia University. The presenters are highly experienced with academic research, NIH extramural funding awards, and enjoy working with early stage investigators as they advance their careers in biomedical research.

Please register for all of the sessions or feel free to select the presentation topic that best meets your interests.
