Editorial Services Eligibility

If you are a WVCTSI member, you are eligible to request editorial services for publication of your manuscript in a peer-review journal.

Please note: professional students, enrolled in graduate degree programs including medical and graduate students, postdoctoral trainees, and clinical residents and fellows are not eligible for editorial services. The process of learning to write a manuscript to publish their research findings is an essential aspect of their training.

Prerequisites

Eligible WVCTSI members must have the following completed prior to requesting an editorial service for your publication:

  1. Complete draft of the manuscript, including figures, tables and references
  2. Selected journal for publication, including a copy of the instructions to authors.
  3. At the time of a service request the selection of the type of editorial service (publication consultation, proofreading, copyediting, or substantive editing) must also be indicated.

Please note that many of these editing services will be provided by an external editor; all services provided by external editors are approved by WVU to ensure your publication materials remain confidential.

Additional Considerations

Requests for editorial services for publications will be prioritized. Research Scholars (current and alumni), Pilot Grant awardees (current or past recipients), and WVCTSI faculty recruits (faculty that WVCTSI has provided some start-up or initial salary funds) will receive the highest priority for these services. All other eligible WVCTSI members, including those at Partner institutions, will receive consideration for this service as based on the date of their iLab request.
