WVCTSI receives Notice of Award for major NIH grant installment

The West Virginia Clinical and Translational Science Institute (WVCTSI) has received the fourth installment of its most-recent five-year $20 million grant awarded through the National Institutes of Health’s Institutional Development Award for Clinical and Translational Research (CTR) program to support research to improve health outcomes for West Virginians.

The recent Notice of Award signifies the release of critical federal funding for the 2025-2026 budget year, allowing the Institute to continue key programs and services such as the WVCTSI Research Scholars, Clinical Trials Center of Excellence, big data services,  the West Virginia Practice-Based Research Network, grant writing support, and much more.

“WVCTSI has established tremendous momentum, and we are thrilled to continue building upon that success to support research relevant to WV communities and clinical and translational investigators across the state,” said Sally Hodder, MD, WVCTSI director, associate vice president for clinical and translational science, and Chancellor’s Preeminent Scholar Chair at West Virginia University. “We are grateful to the NIH and all of our partner institutions for their support which allows us to continue to provide the necessary infrastructure needed to meet our mission," she added.
