Abstracts & Scientific Presentations

Poster and podium lightening talk abstracts are now being accepted for the 2024 WVCTSI Annual Meeting.
Please complete the abstract submission form to submit your abstract for the 2024 West Virginia Clinical and Translational Science Institute Annual Meeting. Abstracts must be received by 11:59 p.m. EST July 14, 2024 for consideration. Those selected to participate will be notified by August 1.
The poster session and reception will take place the evening of Tuesday, September 24. Those selected to give lightening talk presentations should plan to present the afternoon of September 24.

POSTER DETAILS:
Judges will visit their assigned posters during the the afternoon of September 24. Posters must be displayed by 1:00 PM on September 24 on the designated poster boards and may remain up through dinner. Posters must be removed no later than the conclusion of the evening's dinner presentations.
Awards will be given for top student, early-stage investigator (early-stage investigator definition) and senior investigator. A people's choice award will also be given. Awards will be presented at dinner.
Posters should be no larger than 4'x8' and should properly acknowledge funding sources. Poster presenters are responsible for printing their posters and transporting them to the event.
ORAL/PODIUM LIGHTNING TALK DETAILS:
Submissions should exemplify clinical and/or translational research and will be judged based upon innovation, significance, and the potential impact on health disparities in Appalachia. Lightning talk presenters are selected based on rigor and originality of the described project, organization of content, knowledge of material, clarity of artwork (charts, graphs, slides), and overall presentation. Presenters should also highlight any services they received from the WVCTSI and/or how the WVCTSI may have supported the project. Lastly, presenters should properly acknowledge funding sources.
Oral lightning talk presentation sessions will be held the afternoon of September 24 during concurrent breakout sessions. There will be three presentations per session and each presenter will have 5 minutes for their presentation and 3 minutes for questions/answers. Number of content slides should not exceed eight. To remain on schedule and to be fair to all presenters, time limits will be strictly adhered to.

Approved versions of the WVCTSI logo, which can be incorporated into posters and presentations, are available below. The logo may not be altered in any way- including stretching, cropping, or altering colors. A gray scale version of the logo is also available.
WVCTSI funds will pay for one hotel room per accepted entry. See travel guidelines for details and restrictions.
