WV IDeA CTR

What is a CTR Award?

"The IDeA Program Infrastructure for Clinical and Translational Research (IDeA-CTR) initiative encourages applications from IDeA states to develop infrastructure and capacity to conduct clinical and translational research on diseases that affect medically underserved populations and/or diseases prevalent in IDeA states. It further provides for mentoring and career development activities in clinical and translational research." - NIGMS Website

The goal of the West Virginia Clinical and Translation Science Institute's original IDeA CTR award is to expand West Virginia's capacity for, and practice of, clinical and translational research to improve the health of West Virginians.

To realize our ambitious goal, the WVCTSI, which includes West Virginia University, Charleston Area Medical Center, West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, and WVU Medicine Health System, has partnered with the Appalachian Translational Research Institute, which was founded by our IDeA state partner and CTSA recipient the University of Kentucky.
